After being engrossed in playing with his bones, the dog was eager to show off the bones to other dogs. He started walking out of the house towards the farm where the other dogs were gathering.
After walking quite a distance, finally the Dog crossed the bridge that connected the river to the farm. Accidentally, the Dog looked under the bridge, and he was surprised by another dog who was biting a bone that looked bigger than his.
The greedy dog did not know that under the bridge was his own reflection. However, because he was already known for his greed, it arose in the dog's heart to snatch the bone belonging to the dog under the bridge.
Without thinking, the dog immediately jumped and lunged at his own reflection into the river. But... it's really very unfortunate, the dog actually fell and was carried away by the very swift current of the river. The dog could not save himself, and finally he drowned with his bones and pride in the river. And the Dog couldn't show off the bones he wanted to be proud of to the other Dogs.
So... what lessons can we learn from this Fable of the Greedy Dog and a Piece of Bone? : "Arrogance often makes us careless. And greed will always make us unable to think properly."
