One morning, Kango said to his younger brother, “Joey, I'm bored and I really want to play. But I don't know what to play…”
Joey thought and replied, "Come on, let's just jump and jump, Sis!"
"That's not interesting," Kango said, shaking his head.
"To make it more exciting, let's just jump, Sis! Let's see who jumps the highest. Me or Brother…” challenged Joey.
“Must be my highest jump!” Kango said confidently.
“We, right, have never jumped before. So, it's not necessarily the tallest brother…” said Joey.
"You want me to prove it? Look!” Kango said very confidently.
He then jumped high, and high, and high… …so high that he passed through a great gray cloud that passed overhead. The cloud was annoyed.
"Sorry!" Kango said. “Turns out I jumped higher than I thought! I'll be down again," he mumbled. When he looked down, he saw how far the ground he had stepped on. Kango shuddered in horror and closed his eyes.
Gray cloud laughed. Kango suddenly tore a gray cloud to wrap around his body. Gray cloud was very annoyed that he was now only half.
Kango, which was already shrouded in gray clouds, rushed down to the earth. BLUK! His body touched the ground safely, because it was protected by thick clouds. The gray clouds were getting irritated seeing Kango from above. However, the cloud suddenly laughed out loud to itself as it walked away.
Kango was confused to see the gray cloud suddenly laughing to himself. He only knew what caused it when Joey saw it.
"You jump very high, Sis," he said. "But now your fur is gray!"
Kango immediately looked down at his hair. Gosh, it turned out that his body was covered in some kind of dust from the gray clouds. He tried to clean himself, but couldn't. The gray color has stuck to his fur. Finally, he gave up being gray like that.
"You look more manly," complimented the other animals sincerely.
Joey became jealous of his brother.
"You can't be jealous of your sister," advised Wolf, Joey's best friend.
Joey was ashamed of himself. However, he still wanted to try to jump high too.
"I wonder if I can reach the gray clouds too," Joey muttered.
Secretly, Joey trains himself every night. He practiced jumping and kept jumping. Unfortunately, he never met any clouds, even though he was tired of jumping.
The other animals were astonished that Joey hardly slept a night.
"I couldn't sleep at night," said Joey.
One night, the other animals did not sleep too. They wanted to see what Joey did.
That night, Joey jumped as high as he could. He tried many times even when the sun was about to break. The sun laughed loudly when he saw a kangaroo jumping high. More light came out and landed on Joey's fur.
Joey was very surprised when he saw his fur turned red. The other animals watching him clapped their hands in praise
"You look handsome too, Joey!" they said sincerely.
And since then, there have been two types of kangaroos on this earth. Some have gray hair, and some have red hair.
